Nut and Thread Sensing

Detect if the welded nut is there, in its proper place, with quality threads – even through a blind or tapped hole in a sheet metal part. IMI Norgren nut sensors (formerly called "Syron nut probe") have a unique sensing probe that uses a radial detection field so it can verify that the nut totally surrounds the probe.

Blank Sensing

IMI Norgren nut sensors use inductive proximity detection technology to sense the presence of a welded nut through a blank in sheet metal parts. These sensors have the widest range in the industry for more precise, accurate detection. And they are so sensitive they can be calibrated to detect thread presence and quality with a simple hand adjustment and an easy-to-read LED indicator.

Welding and Assembly

IMI Norgren nut and thread detection systems are designed and proven to withstand harsh welding environments. The stainless steel probe and the sensing circuitry are purpose-built to be used as close as possible to the actual welding operation so badly built parts can be detected early in the assembly process.

Heavy Side Loading

The toughened version of the IMI Norgren nut and thread sensors are built for heavy duty and heavy side loading applications. Collisions are no problem. They can even be used as gauging or locating pins.

Spring Mounts

Nut sensor spring mounts prevent damage and prolong sensor life by allowing the probe to retract when the nut is out of place. They also allow the sensor tip to offset up to 5° off centerline so it can even locate misaligned holes.
